The GPS tour I have been organizing is set for 8th and 9th graders: 30 pupils in all, divided in groups of 6 and 1 adult for accompanying them. By bus we will drive to the place called ‘Owen’, and from here start
These principles and best practices I would like to mention related to the Mobile Devices in class:
-
Decide whether the use of an I-pad is relevant to support the students learning for this lesson.
-
The balance of using Mobile Device and resources such as books, visit in library should be a given one (not only use of I-pads, not books only!)
-
There should be given support if technology is used in the classroom, -ask for IT coordinators’ support.
-
As an input into a new topic/unit videos are a very good tool, -but also think what else you can use if stepping into a new topic that gets students’ interest?
-
Ask the students which IT-tools they are used to. Ask them what they prefer the most.
-
Get the students together into groups to support each other in Digital Learning. But be aware that they should be patient, and fair with one another!
-
Decide which tools related to your lesson are important and supportive. Find apps/videos/ pages the for students’ use. Careful research is necessary.
-
Decide whether the students work with Mobile Devices each lesson, for example if doing some research related to the topic/unit.
-
Get the children’s curiosity if implementing a few games into a lesson (these could also be table games, as well as computer games- being recommended by teacher, too).
